Immersion Gig Update
Immersion was a success, thanks to all who came and the valuable comments that followed my performance. All went without a hitch and I am told the visuals worked really well in concert with the music, building up a sort of pseudo-narrative with a blend of concrete sounds, ambience and manipulated images.
Special thanks to Lukas for the visuals and Spencer for letting me play.

Dirac:
'A Dirac performance is a live puree of studio-created material. Berlin-school soundscapes, modern digital textures, and lysergic repetitions, drawn almost at random from recent and archival material, are combined in an improvised live mixdown. Space-music for space elevators; expect ear-worms.'
Not sure what slot I have yet, or what I'll be doing exactly, but whatever it is there'll be 25 minutes of it.
I might make some CDs available on the night as well.
(How goes those two albums, I hear you ask? Well, nothing yet, but stay tuned...)

07/05/2008:
In 2004 I began working on an album project with the working title ‘Popular Noises’. I put together quite a bit of material for it and developed some artwork, but it never really got any further as I had a lot of trouble trying to get the material to sit together as an album rather than a bunch of tracks.
The problem was that stylistically I was being pulled in three different directions (at least), and aiming for a compromise between guitar and electronics seemed like a ticket to Blandsville.
In 2006, partly to motivate myself out of an unproductive hiatus, I began work on a new project called ‘Paisley Throne’, which continued the theme of ‘Popular Noises’ but with more of an emphasis on experimenting with song formats.
In 2008, in a fit of nostalgia for the illustrated Science Fiction books I read as a kid and in an effort to shake off the (returned) hiatus, I began work on yet another album project called ‘Spacewreck’. This lead to some further material in a similar vein to ‘Paisley Throne’.
The upshot is that I now have enough material to put together (at least) two albums, which I will make some effort to sort out over the next couple of months.
Watch the skies…
